Positionally, he is very intelligent. Lizarazu maintains a solid defensive line, tracks runs accurately, and places himself in the right areas to intercept passes or block attempts.

His work rate is outstanding. He contributes consistently in both defensive duties and attacking transitions, covering large areas of the pitch without losing energy.
